Q. How does the Milanese Strap do up?
A. Milanese straps most commonly use a strong magnet on the buckle which connects to the strap. Some use a Butterfly clasp. Both of these are great as they allow the strap to be adjusted to the exact size you want for your wrist.
Q. Will Water ruin a Stainless Steel Link Watch Strap?
A. Yes and no. Ultimately, like all metals, consistent water exposure and non-drying will lead to oxidisation over time which will eventually turn to rust. Even with the high quality coatings with enough water exposure and the metals keeping moist this can cause rusting. However, they can get wet - you just need to ensure that they are patted dry in a timely manner to stop this. Furthermore, salt water should be avoided due to it's corrosive nature.
